How to Lose Weight Fast Top Tips

How to Lose Weight Fast, Slow and any way that suits YOU!

So before I give you my ultimate top slimming tips, tips that WILL answer the burning question of 'how to lose weight fast'. I know I know you just want all the answer and want to be getting on with it. Well bare with me I'll try not to talk too much about myself.

My weight and how I look at my body has always been a battle, at the age of 7 I was 7st, so needless to say I had some bad food habits from the off really. I've always had a sweet tooth, and never had an off button when it comes to food, if its given to me yep I'll eat it whether I like it or not. By the age of 12 I did naturally loose a lot of this weight not by food learning but simply by being more occupied I suppose, but I always carried the 'fat kid' label even it it was just in my head. Then in my early twenties I was actually pretty healthy at about 9st 10lb - 10st 4lb (5ft 4in), at the age of 26 I met my now husband and got married and fell pregnant.

Oh and the flood gates opened going from 10st 10lb to 15st ?? I actually never dared weigh myself, I'd stopped looking in the mirror and would occasionally catch a glimpse of myself in a shop window. Which was just horrifying. This weight eventually came off but I never did manage to get back to my pre-pregancy weight and I'd come to terms with being 12st give or take and was like that for about 5 years.

Baby no.2 - and there we have it yet again, didn't learn first time round still don't know what I actually weighed as I stopped weighing at 90kg - 3 weeks post birth of my son I joined my local Slimming World group (not the first time I'd joined but my 6th) weighing in at 14st 1.5lb - Here we go again. How on earth can I lose 4st or even 2st to get me back into my clothes?

So before I bore you any more about me fast forward 56wks and I had lost 4st 2lbs just under the target I set of 10st, Low and behold I lost 4st and NEVER went hungry, ate loads of lovely food gained a love of food optimising and became a slimming world consultant. As you will gather throughout my posts I am a passionate food optimiser, and open minded one I love food and I love everyone to feel their ultimate happy weight, but more importantly have the power of knowing how they lost weight and that they have the full tool kit to tackle what life has to throw our way.

Right lets get started with those supercharged slimming tips to help you get to your dream target weight.

10 Supercharged Slimming Tips

How to Lose weight fast and for good

Slimming Top Tip 10

Commitment

My first top slimming tip is to

ask yourself this...

On a scale of 1-10 how much do I really want to lose weight?
Am I prepared to make changes to the way I eat, cook & live?

Now am I really committed to a new healthy living lifestyle?

If you answered below 8, No and NO then let's be honest maybe now just isn't the right time for you and if you start without the winning mindset it could just be another failed attempt.

But if you answered 8+ YES, YES - Yippee you're over the first slimming hurdle and on your way to a brighter healthier you

Slimming Top Tip 8

Dream Big and Set a Dream Weight Loss Goal

Hand on heart I can honestly say that setting a target weight on my first night at slimming world felt like a pipe dream, and it was something I've never done before in all my failed slimming attempts.

So Top Slimming Tip Number 8 is set your dream target weight - those that do are  so much more likely to achieve it.

Slimming Top Tip 6

Get active... Get motivated... Get moving...

But don’t run before you can walk! If you're currently not very active and lead a more sedentary lifestyle, the thought of exercise might make you sweat all on it's own. Don’t let your fears steer you away from getting active – after all, exercise isn’t just about Lycra and aerobic classes.

Taking things at your own pace just like making simple swaps – from taking the lift and using the car for short journeys to taking the stairs and walking to the shops. Increase your activity levels gradually until you reach the recommended level of 30 minutes five times a week.

Getting active can be inexpensive and something the whole family can get involved in.

Slimming Top Tip 4

Be kind to yourself

Come on, so slimming isn't easy, it takes us to some pretty tough places and for some reason we are our own worst critics. When your inner thoughts start to be unkind, turn them on their head and tell yourself YOU CAN DO IT, YOU WILL DO IT. And forgive yourself if you have lost track, we can't change the past but we can change the future.

Slimming Top Tip 2

Make food work for you

The thing to remember weight loss comes from a calorie deficit, simple science in order to loose weight you need to consume less than you burn off. I know first hand this can be achieved my simply changing the way you eat.

For big weight losses, you need to feed your appetite not your want for food.

Super Speedy Vegetables & Speedy Fruit will naturally reduce the calories on your plate whilst giving you the most filling power for the calorific value. By replacing at least 1/3 of Slimming World 'Free foods' with 'Speed Free Foods' at every meal where you can, will give you the most amazing weight losses without the need to count, measure and weight everything.

But if you want to know how to lose weight fast then slimming tip number 2, is fill at least 1/2 your plate with super speed vegetables and/or super speed fruits.

Slimming Top Tip 9

Support Network

Going it alone can be really tuff, again from experience been there and got the XL T-shirt!

Building your support network is vital to your success as a slimmer, whether it's a local slimming group such as slimming world or friends and family. Having the right support at home and from friends can make all the difference, and you never know you might even encourage them to join you. A little friendly competition never hurts!

Reach out and reach for the stars

We all know that with a little be of encouragement we can more than we dared dream.

Slimming Top Tip 7

Turn the food you Love into food that will slim you down

Low and behold, I love a takeaway. Your food/drink love might be something different. What ever it is, make sure you know how to enjoy your food love and not sabotage your weight-loss journey.

My love of takeaways funnily enough has gone full circle, it helped me gain weight and now lose weight. Finding a healthier alternative or a new recipe that you can try at home could be your saving grace for a successful weight loss.

Or simple changes like swapping full fat mayo to light or extra light, or regular cola to diet cola. These quick changes can make a big big impact on your weight loss success.

& Mix it up!

In a food rut? Always eating the same meals? Eating a variety of meals and something new once in a while will keep your slimming journey exciting.

Slimming Top Tip 5

Track your progress

Having a visual reminder of your long-term goal is a great way to help you stay on track with your weight-loss journey. Not only is it a great way to see the amazing progress you’re making, it’s a good way to keep yourself inspired and committed to those ultimate goals.

Some slimmers love using measurement charts and progress pictures to keep them motivated – not only will they remind you why you’re losing weight, they’re fun too! My biggest new member regret was not measuring myself, get that tape measure out, it may be scary at first but as the lbs & inches drop it's a really satisfying measure of your success and hard work.

Slimming Top Tip 3

Make changes you can commit to for the long term

In my opinion fad, quick fix diets don't work and that's because it's a diet not a life long change to the way we eat & live. To truly loose weight and keep it off changes have to become new habits, banishing the bad habits that brought us to a point of needing lose weight in the first place.

Getting consumed with do's and don't and endless counting can be too much for the long term slimmer you.

Find your new food grooves that incorporates, a well balanced healthy lifestyle while knowing how to make simple changes to see fabulous weight losses week in and week out (when required).

Slimming Top Tip 1

On plan 100% for 7 days... your destiny is in your hands

Making changes to the way you live, eat, cook & think can be one of the biggest challenges you will ever face.

But if you truly want amazing weight losses it's going to require you taking control and sticking to plan 100% for a full 7 days without a doubt will see you 6,7,9 more more lbs lighter.
