A very warm welcome from us the founders of slimming today, Sam & Dee mother & daughter duo, partners in crime against fad food, fast food and food that makes your insides feel icky!
We hope you our website/blog gives you a new source of inspiration, ideas and a community of like minded slimmers & healthy lifestyle explorers.
The idea for slimming today as formed over years of tinkering in the kitchen, flicking through countless cookery books and many mouthfuls of food.
I have been a person who turns to food for every reason under the sun. I have found that a low fat way of eating suits me and is a lifestyle tha whole family can enjoy.
I have studied Food & Nutrition, Psychology and sociology including various others. I am also very interested in alternative therapy’s NLP being one of them Neuro-linguistic programming, which you will see throughout the lifestyle and wellbeing parts of the site.
We endeavour to pass on as much knowledge to you as we can! To help you on your journey called life! So you can truly live your life ( eat to live not live to eat ). I have had to make changes to how I’m programmed to automatically think! And actually what are we but thoughts!!
Every single one of us is as individual as a snow flake!
Nothing will change if we don’t make changes! It’s great it has put me back in charge stopping the negative dialogue that is a running through our minds! It’s such a freedom! Namaste
Shortly after I embarked on a whole new chapter of becoming a Slimming World Consultant and on the 1st November 2018 I relaunched the Newtown Methodist Church Evening group. WOW although short lived due to other work commitments my time as a Consultant has enlightened me to so much more. And i'll touch on this from time to time in my posts.
I've faced like so may that daunting desire to loose weight and the struggle with commitment. In the past I've found it so easy to make excuses for myself and yet that voice is still their telling you, I shouldn't be eating this, yet we do time and time again.
What if that voice said 'enjoy it', would we still feel the urge to keep going back if we didn't think of it as forbidden?
Instead of deprivation, trying to create a way of eating where all food and drink is okay, just in moderation, by relying on wholesome foods to make up 95% of our consumption we can still enjoy all that life has to through at us.
I truly believe in food optimising and that's not because I'm an ex Slimming World Consultant but because I've lost 4st 4lb, without ever feeling hungry or deprived and still enjoying family days out and meals out. It can happen, it does happen it just requires a commitment to change and a commitment to yourself.
